Join the Residence Life staff @ 12 noon in the Chess Center!!!

Events include- Curling, Dodgeball, Floor Hockey, Sno-cone Eating Contest, Snowman Building (weather permitting), Olympic Trivia and more!

Teams are a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 8. Teams can be co-ed. If you can't get a team together, come anyway because we can make teams on the spot or you can compete individually!

Sign up your team with any RA before Friday January 28. There will be prizes!

The Student Student Budget Allocation Request Form is now available. To request funding for this semester, please complete the request form at https://orgsync.com/forms/show/27104. Requests are due by 5pm, Friday, January 21, 2011. The Senate budget committee will meet to consider requests the following week and the recommendations will be presented to Student Senate at the next available meeting. If you have questions about the process, please contact Emily Cole, the Senate Treasurer.

The Winter Activities Fair is scheduled for this Thursday, January 13th at 7:30pm. Everyone is welcome! Come out of the cold and warm up with a WMCO live broadcast, PNC Bank iPod giveaway and prize wheel,Student Senate hot chocolate, a t-shirt giveaway, and lots of information about this semester's events. Student organization leaders: Tables for this event are first-come-first-serve (no need to pre-register), and you can set-up starting at 7pm. The Fall 2010 Budget Allocation form is available for student organizations. The form is in OrgSync or can be accessed through this link: https://orgsync.com/forms/show/23035. The request guidelines  for budget allocations are available on the website at http://www.muskingum.edu/home/campuslife/studentsenate.html.Requests are due by Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at 5pm. Start the year with all the information you need for a successful group!

To complete you annual registration, you need to update your group's profile on OrgSync.

Then, send at least one representative from your group to an orientation session on September 9th. Sessions are available from 4-6pm and 7-9pm, September 9th, in Boyd 239. Dinner is available for all participants from 6-7pm and is sponsored by Student Senate.  Orientation sessions include general organization information, OrgSync training, Student Senate budget allocation information, and event planning information.  If you have any questions, please contact Rebecca Delo at rdelo@muskingum.edu.

If you intend to ask for funding for your student organization this semester, complete the budget allocation form by 5pm today. 

Student Senate will vote on the Senate Budget Committee's recommendations on Tuesday, February 2nd. 

Thursday, February 4th is Student Organization Night at Brewed Awakenings.  Wear a Be shirt or club shirt to support your group! Your budget allocation information will be available at the event, and Senate officers will be available to further discuss your group's budget issues.

Number of Student Organization Events in October: 161! Make sure your events are counted by adding them to the public events calendar. Click on Tools, then Events, then Create a New Event.

Most October Events: The student organization with the most events this month was GLASS, with great events every day/evening during Coming Out Week. Who can forget the drag show?!

Student Senate News: (1) Budget allocations were completed in October, with approximately $28000 allocated to various student organizations this semester. (2) No 180 Meeting for November 2009. (3) Senate is now getting ready for executive board elections in November. If you want to run for an exec board position, complete the petition form at https://orgsync.com/forms/show/16989. Petition forms are due by 4pm, November 3rd.

OrgSync Updates: OrgSync users, please notice a couple of new features released yesterday on the "Add an Org" module.  The long list of communities (those other than Muskingum’s campus) may now be collapsed so that page is less cluttered. The list of organizations may now be searched by keyword, category, or alphabetically. And the “Add an Org” button has been moved back to to the top left of the user’s homepage so it is easier to find.  Last week the public calendar at http://muskingum.orgsync.com/Calendar was updated and is now easier to read.  Just a few updates to make the whole system easier to use!

Think Summer in October: The temperature is going down, but it's the perfect time to think about summer. Please complete a brief survey about summer session classes. Your participation helps to create this summer's schedule of classes. Go to https://eballot.votenet.com/muskingum; Your username is your campus email username, and your password is your campus ID number. Hurry! The survey closes this Friday at 4pm.

Group Administrators - check out the recent OrgSync updates! When you add an event to the public calendar, you can now choose repeating events and other helpful options. Try it - it's a great new feature! Remember, to add an event to the calendar, click on Tools, choose Events, and then Add New Event.

Student Senate Executive Board elections will be held in November. The President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer will be elected for the 2010 term (Spring 2010 and Fall 2010). Petition forms are due by 4pm, November 3, 2009. For more details, please see the Petition form here in OrgSync (or at this link: https://orgsync.com/forms/show/16989).  Senate will discuss the election process at its meeting on October 27th. If you are interested in a position, please try to come to this meeting for more information and details. Juniors: Are you eligible to be selected for and to vote for Homecoming Top 10? Make sure you are included! Check the list in the BOC by Monday, October 5th and make sure your name is listed. You can then vote for Top 10 at the Chess Center Front Desk (during normal Chess Center hours) on October 6th and 7th.  The list is also available here on OrgSync; go to http://muskingum.orgsync.com/Forms, click on Files, and then select "Junior List for Top 10" in the general files folder.  Contact me if you need to be added to or deleted from the list.  Thanks! Welcome back, student organization leaders!

Student organization registration is an annual event. Registration allows your group to use campus resources and, if applicable, to receive budget allocation funding.

To register your organization, please complete the following steps:

1)      Complete the Registration form for your group. This form is available on OrgSync or at https://orgsync.com/forms/show/15785.

 

2)      Advisors, complete the Advisor Agreement form for your group. This form is available on OrgSync or at https://orgsync.com/forms/show/15784.

 

3)      Attend an Orientation Session (see below).

 

4)      Your group’s Treasurer should attend the first 180 meeting of the semester on Tuesday, September 8^th, 8pm-9pm, in the Chess Center (stage area). This meeting will include general treasury information from the Business Office and budget allocation information from Student Senate. If you do not have a Treasurer, or your Treasurer cannot attend, please send another leader from your group to this meeting.

This year is the second year for our online registration program, OrgSync.  Because we are shifting from a paper registration system to an online system, we need to move from a large group presentation to smaller group meetings with access to computers.

The available orientation sessions are listed below. Please make sure that at least one leader from your group attends an orientation session. Advisors and students are welcome at any session. Because so many sessions are offered, I encourage you to send as many leaders of your group as possible.

08-19-2009: Forms Are Available

New forms for 2009-2010 are available. Group registration, weekend funding request, Be shirt orders, and event planning forms have all been updated. If you ever hear, "The form is on OrgSync," here's how to find it: Log-in to OrgSync, then click on one of your groups. Then select Tools from the menu on the left; Select Forms from the drop down menu. Forms are sorted by category. Watch for lots of updates at the beginning of the semester.

It's nearly time to say "Welcome" or "Welcome Back" to campus!

Lots of great updates have happened in OrgSync this summer. I have some suggestions for everyone within the OrgSync program.

For all individual users:

·         When you log in to the system you will be prompted to update your profile. Follow the steps and update your new class rank and any other information you want to share. 

·         If you are a new student and aren’t sure what group to join, select the All Students group. You can join or leave groups at any time.

·         If you are no longer a student, group administrators will soon be removing you from your groups.  You can do this process yourself by logging into OrgSync, click on My Account at the top of the page, and then either Leave a Group or Delete My Account.

·         We are now using the OrgSync calendar to list all student organization events. This is not the campus master calendar; it is a calendar for student organization use.  To see this calendar, log into your account and click on "My Calendar" at the top of the page. Select the "community view" calendar.  The calendar will also soon be available on the student activities website, along with a searchable directory of student organizations. Watch for those update within the next couple of weeks.

For student organization leaders:

·         The Activities Fair is September 1, 2009. The form to request a table is in OrgSync or available through this link: https://orgsync.com/forms/show/15769

·         Watch for organization orientation and registration information soon here on OrgSync and at the Activities Fair. If you want to get a head start, feel free to complete the registration form in the OrgSync forms or available through this link: https://orgsync.com/forms/show/15785

·         If you have an event planned for the fall, please complete an Event Planning Form and add your event to your group’s calendar. You can add an event by clicking on Tools on the left side of your group’s page. Select Events, and then Create a New Event. Set your event to “public” so it can be seen by everyone at Muskingum. The description you write will also be seen by anyone that looks at the calendar.  The Event Planning Form is in OrgSync or available through this link: https://orgsync.com/forms/show/15046

The Event Planning Form looks a little different. The form now includes a page to help you schedule space for your events. Complete the form each time you plan to have an event with your group.

02-11-2009: Student Senate 180 Meeting

Reminder: February's 180 Meeting is Thursday, 2/12/09, 8pm in the lower level of the Chess Center. Anyone is welcome to attend, and Senate requires each student organization to have at least one representative at the meeting. 09-19-2008: Organization Registration Forms

Please complete your group's Organization Registration Form. Your group is not registered for the year until this form is completed.

Any group without a registration form on file by September 26, 2008 will be temporarily deactivated in OrgSync and will not be permitted to publicize events, reserve space or enjoy the other benefits of other student organizations until the registration form is completed.

The form is located in the forms section on OrgSync. Click the forms button and select the Organization Registration form.  If you have any problems or questions, please let me know.

Student Senate Budget Allocation Forms are due today, September 19, 2008.

To complete the form, click into your group and select the "Forms" button in the middle of the page. You should now see a list of forms including the budget allocation request.

If you have not completed the form because you couldn't figure out how or where to access the form, please contact me.  I am happy to help anyone get used to our new online format.
